We are using OPNET for the modeling and simulating course project assignments of both the graduate and undergradute level Computer Network courses, as well as the upcoming graduate course Computer and Network Security .

Here is an example of the Computer Network OPNET course project:
In this project, it is given:
1) Some network topology, say 25 nodes with mesh connection, each node is assumed to be an ATM switch with specific switch capacity.
2) The link capacity and propagation delay are given for each link (you can give any proper number).
3) End-to-end traffic load is flexible to be changing from 0.1 to 1.5 of the ATM switch capacity.
4) End-to-end traffic demand with 30% of video, 40% of voice, 30% of data traffic components.
5) Assume shortest path routing algorithm is used by the signalling protocol.
6) Compare the performance of  different ATM switch buffer queueing policies such as FIFO, Head-of-line Priority Queueing, Fair Queueing, Weighted Fair Queueing, etc (check the available queueing policy building blocks within OPNET library, compare the ones are available) by collecting  the following statistics.
7) Run the simulation for different time period, from 10 seconds to 1 hour, and collect the throughput, delay, jetter, blocking probabilities (both average and maximum) for each end-to-end node pair under different queueing policies.
Notes: You have flexibility to assign the detail specs which were not specified.
