Educational Bio

I am currently an Assistant Professor at Michigan Technological University in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department.

I've completed my Ph.D. at Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor in October 2000.

I completed my Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering at Michigan Technological University , in November of 1991. Michigan Technological University is located in the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. For those of you who have never been there, check out one of many things you missed, the Northern Lights in all thier splendor.

While studying at the University of Michigan I completed my Masters of Science in Computer Engineering. This degree was granted in April of 1994. During the time which I have been at the University of Michigan I have held a number of positions in a variety of departments. The first of these was as a Graduate Student Teaching Assistant (GSTA) for the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department, instructing in a digital circuits interfacing (EECS 373) course. This position was held for the winter term (Jan - Apr) of 1993. The second position I held here at the University of Michigan was as a Graduate Student Research Assistant (GSRA) in the Human Factors department of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute. I held this position from August of 1993 through December of 1994. In January of 1995 I started working with the High-Performance Microprocessors Project within the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Michigan . My current plan is to continue in this group, through the completion of my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering.

At this time and until the middle of the 1997 Winter Semester, I am the Computer Science and Engineering Graduate (CSEG) Student organization President. Prior to this, from April 1995 through April 1996 I was the Computer Science and Engineering Graduate (CSEG) Student organization social chairperson. Charles Lefurgy has succeeded me in this position, if you wish to assist him in his social duties please contact him at lefurgy@eecs.umich.edu. If you are intersted in contributing to the Computer Science and Engineering Graduate (CSEG) Student organization please email me.
