Teaching Deregulation (panel)
Tuesday, 23 July, 2:00 PM–5:00 PM Crystal Room
Sponsored by: Power Engineering Education Committee
Chair: L. Bohmann, Michigan Technological University

How has the role of power engineering education changed now that many of the world's electricity markets are opening up to competition? This panel session was organized to address this question. Four perspectives will be presented, two from Europe, two from the United States; two from academia, two from grid operator organizations. The presentations will discuss the change needed in university education due to the changing regulations, the role of market operators in this education, and how two universities have risen to this challenge.
