Summary:
This panel was organized to identify and discuss a group of grand challenges in electric power systems. The panelists have prepared presentations on the research challenges associated with the benefits of decentralization, data availability, system reliability, distributions systems, state estimation, and operation and control. The challenges that are presented indicate major research needs in the power systems area.
