Doctor of Philosophy

The Doctor of Philosophy degree is a research degree. It is awarded in recognition of demonstrated mastery of the subject matter within a chosen subspecialty of electrical and computer engineering, and demonstrated competence in the conduct of individual research investigations that represent a significant contribution to the cumulative knowledge in that area. The student will work closely with an advisor and an advisory committee to prepare for and conduct research on a topic of interest to the student.
