Master of Engineering

The Master of Engineering degree is intended to be a terminal professional degree where the candidate demonstrates advanced ability in both course work and in advanced independent design. Students can complete the degree course requirements in two semesters. The degree is typically completed by a practicum within industry or in government research. This degree is intended for students wishing to work in the areas of consulting engineering, industry, or government.

Master of Science

The Master of Science degree is an advanced degree that typically includes both a coursework component and a research component. This degree is intended as either a terminal degree for students wishing to work in consulting, industry, or government, or as a gateway to the Ph. D. degree.

Doctor of Philosophy

The Doctor of Philosophy degree is a research degree. It is awarded in recognition of demonstrated mastery of the subject matter within a chosen subspecialty of electrical and computer engineering, and demonstrated competence in the conduct of individual research investigations that represent a significant contribution to the cumulative knowledge in that area. The student will work closely with an advisor and an advisory committee to prepare for and conduct research on a topic of interest to the student.
