Assistant Professor Jindong Tan has received $240,000 for a three-year project from the National Science Foundation for "Sensors: Scalable Coordination for Hybrid Sensor/Actuator Networks."

 

Duo Zhang joins electrical and computer engineering as a postdoctoral scholar. He holds a BE, master's and PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China. He has a wife, Jin Xie, and lives in Houghton. Zhang has strong hardware and software experience in wireless communications and R and D of mobile systems.

Professor Michael Roggemann has received $121,000 for year 1 of a potential three-year $410,003 grant from the United States Department of Defense, Air Force Office of Scientific Research for "Image Reconstruction, Wave Front Sensing, and Adaptive Optics in Extreme Atmospheric Seeing Conditions." Also he recently received $44,093 from the University of California at Santa Cruz for “Performance and Stability Analysis of Minimum Variance and Kalman Filter Based Predictive Control Algorithms for Single and Multi Conjugate Adaptive Optics.”

Assistant Professor Seyed Zekavat received a $462,398 grant from the National Science Foundation for a four-year research project titled "Optimizing the Interdisciplinary Course: Introduction to Electrical Engineering (EE) for Non-EE Majors."
Dr. Zekavat also has received a $350,000 grant for four years from the National Science Foundation for collaborative research titled "A Wireless Local Positioning System for Mobile Remote Monitoring." Read more details

Assistant Professor Luc Gilles has received a $45,000 award from the University of California-Santa Cruz for his project, "Closed Loop ExAO and MCAO Sparse Minimum--Variance Performance Evaluation."
