John gave a presentation on problems inherent in the generation, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy in cold climates and northern latitudes. Topics discussed included Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GIC), materials at low temperatures, power quality, etc. Engineering problems and related research opportunities were also discussed.
